Lesson 5 Creating a module with contact details

Add this to your website
We now know how to copy a module and change its position. As you can imagine there are a lot more you can do with modules.

As always open up your  Public URL and Admin URL in new windows or tabs in your browser

In your Admin URL page go to Extension > Module manager
1.Click on new (top right)
2.Double click on either custom html or click on the button next to custom html and then click on new.
3.Title call it Contact Details
4.Show title and enable to yes
5.Position  - left
6.Scroll to bottom of page and in the custom output add in your contact details in a format you like. Tip – press control and return when at the end of a line to go to next line.
7.I will show you later how to add your e-mail. (At this stage we just need an address or a few lines of text)
8.Save and go the public url to see your address appear on each page.

Again if it did not appear go back to module manager and make sure on the address row the enable button is clicked to show a tick.

As an exercise

1.create a new custom html module
2. give it a title
3. try a new position
4. add some text
5. This time on menu assignment click on > Select Menu Item(s) from the List > select one of you pages.
6. Save

Go to main url and navigate to the page you have just put your text on and you will see your new text module appear on just that page.

Well done you are well on the way to having a functional website. We will next be adding a better text editor, video, photo gallery and setting up sections and categories.
