Supporting Charities with joomla
We always like to support charities by fundraising and have put on many events over the years. These include 24hr BASIC events (Badminton and, Swimming Including Cycling) Wisit Whodunits, fancy dress socials, ghost vigils, cycling to the coast, walking, a pace race chase (don't ask *smile*) and many more. So its natural that we use our skills with websites and we our pleased to support the Children of Watamu charity with a website, hosting, development and support for free. The charity provides accommodation, education, support and a lot of love to orphaned children in the Watamu area of Kenya. The orphanage called the Happy House is run by Sue Hayward and her husband David who has now moved from there home in Blackpool to live in Watamu to help the children. Sue is an amazing lady who has a great passion to make a difference to these vulnerable children. Sue has a great team in Kenya and here in England Sue is helped by Elizabeth Gomm who also has a passion to help these children. Elizabeth does a lot of fundraising and awareness here in England, of course if you would like to get involved then please visit the website of follow on the happy house facebook page All money raised go to the children's development and there is a farm projects where crops are grown, animals raised to help feed the hungry mouths.
As a company we also sponsor a child a young Harrison at the Happy House and to do this Chris does the occasional wedding in exchange for a donation to the Happy House. The only cost taken out is for travel, the bride and groom get an amazing set of photos both posed and candid and the satisfaction of helping a child in Africa. A perfect way to start married life. As you can see from the photo Harrison (3yrs) is a happy, Happy House child.
It has been agreed another way to help is via website building. All those who ask we will give 10% of the cost for a new or developed joomla website to the Happy House charity all we ask if for a link on your site to the happy house in Watamu, Kenya. Don't forget a website can cost as little as £100.
We will also do all we can for other charity sites and we will advise for free if you are getting value for money with your current website or if a website is required. We will give you free advice on the best way forward and if a website is required best price possible. The advice we do give is to make sure you have a facebook page and a twitter account. A regular blog is also advised and of course with a joomla site you can bring all three elements together and if set up correct your blog can publish to your website, facebook and twitter account. We always advice that you publish in one place and cascade to others to get as much of follow as possible.
